Not that i wanna be racist!!! Similar incident happened few days ago and things was not like that. The driver---> Chinese. Incident happened today. Driver??? INDIAN!!!
Just sent an email of complain to SBS. Seriously the first time i am so angry till such an extent. I am a "temper come fast go fast" type of person. With the help of my daddy, I wrote this:
"At about 2.45pm to 3pm today, I boarded bus 51 heading towards comfort driving centre for my basic theory test. I tapped my EZ link card which contain only MRT concession. It expires sometime around 11 July. I forgot that there was no value in my card. The machine showed "pay cash".I asked the bus captain how much should I pay. I paid 90 cents as requested. The Bus Captain requested to see my EZ link card. In the handing process of my card to the captain, the card dropped on the floor. He told me that my card was invalid and confiscated my card. I explained to him that the card was not invalid because I have just took a mrt ride from Pasir Ris to Eunos and that was about 5 minutes ago. Besides, I have checked my card validity a few days ago when another bus captain told me about my card invalidity. He insisted on taking my card and asked me to fill in a slip of paper so that i can collect back my card 1-2 days later. I questioned him if he has the right to take my card without my agreement. He said "yes". I was taken aback by this situation and told him about the inconveniences I would face because of his actions. That were, 1. I would not be able to take a train. I did not have any more coins or cash with me. 2. I am not familiar of the area. 3. I have to meet the schedule of my driving theory test. Despite my explaination of inconveniences, he proceed in confiscating my card. I have to alight and called the SBS. The SBS Call Centre, Annie confirmed with me that the bus captain has no right to take my card without my permission. Around evening, I received a call from Annie that I could collect my card back. I went to Hougang Interchange to collect my card and was given 10 bus vouchers. I am very disatisfied with the way SBS dealt with this incidents. I feel like being brushed off with just 10 bus vouchers. The Bus Captain wrongful act have caused as follows: 1. I had to take a cab that cost me $2.70 and $9.80 when I could have taken bus/train with my EZ link card. 2. I was late and emotionally disturbed for my theory driving test and failed in the result. The bus captain lied that he has the right to take my EZ link card. Hence, taking my card without my consent is as good as theft or cheating me.Being responsible for the wrong doing on the part of SBS,I felt that SBS should compensate me as follows:- 1. The full taxi fare. 2. The fee of my driving theory test, about $25.00. 3. Lastly, the bus captain should apologise to me.He was smiling, happy and laughing at me when I was so upset about the whole incident that causes me so much stress, time and money. Please let me know your view or action regarding the matter. PS: I do not know the name of the bus captain. But i know he is an indian bus captain. I am sure the bus captain has already been identified as i was told that the manager has talked to the bus captain. "
